PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera, which has a grip turnable relative to a camera body and movable relative to it in the direction of a turning axial line, with a turnable ejecting/retracting shaft structure which satisfies, at a high level, the smoothness of an operation performed when the grip is turned or relatively moved in the direction of the turning axial line, stability when the operation stops, and the miniaturization of the mechanism. SOLUTION: The camera grip turnable ejecting/retracting shaft structure includes: a pair of fixed tubes fixed coaxially such that one is on the camera body and the other on the grip; a lock control ejecting/retracting member supported so as to be rectilinearly movable relative to one of the pair of fixed tubes in the direction of the turning axial line and nonrotatable relative to it, and operable from outside the camera body or the grip; a turnable lock mechanism by which, in accordance with the rectilinear movement of the lock control ejecting/retracting member relative to the one fixed tube, switching takes place between a turn lock state in which the lock control ejecting/retracting member and the other fixed tube cannot turn relative to each other and an unlock state in which they can turn relative to each other; and a lock pressing means for pressing the lock control ejecting/retracting member in the direction in which the turn lock mechanism is brought into the turn lock state.
