PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning member which has a support plate and an elastic blade joined to each other, cleans the surface of a photoreceptor, by pressing the elastic blade to the photoreceptor surface and which can be uniformly pressure welded with the photoreceptor surface under high pressure per unit area. SOLUTION: The surface of the support plate 2 opposing the surface of a photoreceptor 4 is defined as a support plate surface 5, and the surface of the elastic blade 3 in the side opposite to the side facing the surface of the photoreceptor 4 is defined as a blade back face 6. The elastic blade 3 is jointed to the support plate surface 5, only at a portion 7 in the base end side of the blade back face 6. A reinforcing elastic body 41 is jointed to a portion 8 in the top end of the blade back face 6 which is not jointed to the support plate surface 5 and to the top end face 9 of the support plate 2.
