<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where the loading state of a developing cartridge is rapidly and surely confirmed with a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: An IC tag 92 is embedded in the end face of the developing cartridge 60. By placing the developing cartridge 60 in the loading part 70 of the image forming apparatus and rotating (rotating in a direction shown by an arrow C in figure (A)) a shutter member 75, the developing cartridge 60 is latched in the loading part 70, so that it can supply toner to a developing device 22. Since a transmission/reception part 116 is provided at a position where it comes close to the IC tag 92 to realize radio communication in a state where the developing cartridge 60 is latched (state shown by figure (B)), it can communicate with the IC tag 92, and whether the new developing cartridge 60 is correctly loaded is discriminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
