<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost of a head unit and to facilitate maintenance, while employing such an arrangement which enables applicable range, e.g. the type or the size of electronic components to be handled to be widened. <P>SOLUTION: Each of first through eighth suction heads 22-29 comprises a lower nozzle shaft 36a, and an upper nozzle shaft 36b removably fixed to the upper end of the lower nozzle shaft through a shaft coupling 38. A suction nozzle 8 is provided at the lower end of the lower nozzle shaft 36a. The lower nozzle shaft 36a is rotatably supported and vertically movably by a lower supporting member 37 removably fixed to the base plate 21 of a head unit 5. The upper nozzle shaft 36b is rotatably supported and vertically movably by an upper support member 44 provided on the base plate 21. The upper nozzle shaft is connected with an R shaft driver 32.
