PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems with a microscopic viewing apparatus and viewing method automated to a large scale including an image processing means that an extremely costly constitution is eventually necessitated and, when viewing conditions are going to be changed in a microplate unit, there is a need for changing conditions each time, conditions changing is complicated and operability is poor. SOLUTION: The motor operated stage for the microscope comprises a fixing member for fixing the stage to the microscope, movable member which holds a specimen and is movable on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of the microscope, a driving means for moving the movable member, a driving power transmitting means for transmitting the driving power of the driving means to the movable member, an operating means for operating the movement etc., of the movable member, and a control means for changing over at least two driving control methods according to the operation signal from the operating means.
