PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master feeder of a plate making machine capable of cutting and preparing a long master in a rather short time even when the long master is prepared. SOLUTION: In this master feeder of the plate making machine, a carrier sensor is installed before a paper feed path at the outlet of the paper feed path. A carrier roller is rotated at a low speed by detection signals at the tip of a maser detected by the carrier sensor, and stopped by the detection of the tip of the master by the paper feed sensor.
