Supported heterogeneous organotin catalysts of the formula X1, X2, or X3: wherein Z is a spacer group; Y is an insoluble phenyl-group containing copolymer; R¹, R², R³, R⁵, and R⁶ are independently selected from halogen, alkyl, alkylene, phenyl, vinyl, allyl, naphthyl, aralkyl, and Z; and R⁴ is alkyl, alkylene, phenyl, vinyl, allyl, naphthyl, or aralkyl.
