<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for surely forming a high quality image without generating the problem of a filming phenomenon or the like caused by a mold releasing agent by securing sufficient mold releasability in the image forming apparatus using a heat pressure fixing system. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a step of forming the image on one face of a recording material by performing image formation operation by an intermediate transfer body method, inverting and conveying the recording material to be introduced to a secondary transfer region, and setting an image formation mode forming the image on the other face of the recording material by performing image formation operation. A fixing means is composed of the heat pressure fixing system without having a mold releasing agent supply means, and provided with a recording material temperature detection means and a recording material cooling means operated in an operation condition corresponding to a detection result by the temperature detection means in a recording material inverting conveying passage from a fixing nip region in the fixing means to the secondary transfer region in the order to a conveying direction of the recording material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
