PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the positional information of satellites by using Doppler information in a GPS unit. SOLUTION: The GPS unit calculates the positional information of the satellites without receiving and using the astronomical almanac (ephemeris) information, by receiving the Doppler information of the satellites within the sight of the unit.
