PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical amplifier that can adjust the optical power of the optical signals of each wavelength, on which wavelength multiplexing is carried out and the optical output power of each wavelength and deflection between wavelengths. SOLUTION: An optical power controller 8 branches light using an optical star coupler 18, and from each light branched by light filters 20a, 20b and 20c, lights of wavelengthsλ1,λ2 andλ3 are extracted, respectively. Then, optical gain controllers 17a and 17b independently amplify and attenuate only the light of wavelengthλ2 and light of wavelengthλ3. After that, an optical star coupler 19 combines lights of each wavelengths. An optical amplification section 9 amplifies the overall light that has been combined.
