<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the overcurrent limit circuit of a current mode step-down switching regulator in which overcurrent limit characteristics are enhanced as compared with a conventional circuit even when the output voltage lowers through overcurrent limitation. <P>SOLUTION: Overcurrent limiting characteristics are enhanced even when the output voltage VOUT lowers through overcurrent limitation by such an arrangement as the apparent oscillation frequency is lowered by skipping an arbitrary number of pulses being entered to the set terminal of an SR latch upon the occurrence of an ovecurrent thereby reducing the impact by response lag of an overcurrent detection comparator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
