<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for preparation of an aqueous solution of a reducing agent for purification of exhaust gas which is suitable for purification of e.g. the exhaust gas of diesel engines, permits inexpensive and ready preparation of an aqueous solution of a reducing agent, e.g. urea water, with a desired concentration, without problems associated with the structure of diesel vehicles and mounting on the vehicles, and convenient supply of the solution to diesel vehicles and allows convenient use with miniaturized and lightened equipment and an inexpensive preparing method. <P>SOLUTION: In the apparatus, a granular or powder reducing agent 10 for purification of exhaust gas is dissolved in water. An aqueous solution S of the reducing agent in a desired concentration is prepared, and a tank 5 for preparation of aqueous solution storing the aqueous solution S is disposed. This apparatus is employed for reducing agent for exhaust gas purification. The tank 5 has a stirring device dissolving the reducing agent in water and stirring the resultant mixture. The tank 5 is separated from a vehicle to which the aqueous solution S is supplied and arranged so as to move or stand at a fixed position.
