PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing nanocarbon capable of easily producing high quality nanocarbon at a high efficiency and at a low cost by utilizing steam explosion. SOLUTION: The method for producing nanocarbon comprises the steps of dry-distilling vulcanized rubber into a granular carbonized product, making a nano raw material from the granular product having a residual sulfur content of 10-30% in weight ratio, ultrafine-pulverizing the nano raw material by steam explosion occurring in the midway of decompression after pressurization, indirectly collecting particles scattered by the explosion and obtaining nanocarbon containing nano-substances.
