PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for grouping containers certainly at high speed and supplying them to the next workstation. SOLUTION: A packer includes a supply unit 2 which supplies containers consecutively to the workstation 20 at a predetermined speed, and grouping units 6a-6d which group the containers on the supply unit 2. The grouping units 6a-6d has a sensor element 70 which detects a supply of the containers, and at least two stopper elements 6a-6d. The stopper elements 6a-6d move consecutively according to a time determined by a detected supply time of a container and an operational speed of the supply unit 2 in order to stop the move of the next container as the supply unit keeps supplying the containers.
