A plug, turnable and openable by a spanner, spigot, or similar tool, has an end cap having an outer periphery (1) formed to a prismatic shape. The outer periphery may have adjacent concave faces. The end cap is receivable within a prismatic recess (2) within the tool. An independent claim is also included for a plug turning or opening tool.
