On an LCD display (ST1) of a digital camera, an icon representing a folder (F1) shows that the folder (F1) is being selected. Image files (P11, P12) are reproduction of images that have been taken. In a display frame (SC), a taken image (R) of a current object, the files (P11, P12), and the icon of the folder (F1) are displayed at the same time. To switch folders from F1 to F2, a user presses a lower button of a cross key (27). When the lower button is pressed while the display (ST1) is being shown, the display is changed through a display (ST2) to a display (ST3). In the display (ST2), a number in the icon is changed and a state in the process of the folder switching is displayed. The fact that the folder has been switched to F1 to F2 can be confirmed by the icon in the display (ST3).
