The ocarina musical instrument (1) has a barrel-shaped body with an inner resonance zone connected to the blowing opening, and the holes to give the notes. The body (2) is a manufactured wood or plastics headpiece (A) of a recorder, with a blowing opening linked to the resonance zone by a longitudinal wind channel (4). The air window (6) and lip (7) are at the transit between the wind channel and the resonance zone. The resonance zone has at least four holes (8) of different diameters, to be used by the fingers to give different notes. The open end is sealed by an injection molded plastics airtight plug (10), secured by adhesives or welding in a durable bond.
