<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar device with target detection performance enhanced even in cases where clutter power on a sea surface, a ground surface, etc. is very large and a signal-vs.-clutter-power ratio is low. <P>SOLUTION: This device is equipped with: a controller for controlling the directivity angle of a transmission-reception antenna in an elevation direction; a range compression means for pulse-compression-processing a received signal to store it in a storage part with it associated with the directivity angle of the antenna, a clutter illumination pattern calculation means for calculating a clutter illumination pattern based on an estimated radar height, its direction, and an antenna pattern measured in advance; a clutter scattering cross section estimating means for estimating a clutter scattering cross section; a clutter suppressing means for calculating clutter suppression signals by using the estimated scattering cross section, the signals obtained by suppressing clutter power with respect to the received signals already pulse-compression-processed and accumulated in the storage part; and a target detection means for detecting a target from among the suppression signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
