<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lower limbs and foot parts of a user from interfering with front wheels and a footrest from hitting an obstacle while improving traveling stability by prolonging a wheel base between front and rear wheels. <P>SOLUTION: A motor-driven wheelchair is provided with the front wheels 9 arranged on both left and right sides of the front lower part of a chair part 2 and driven by an electric motor 11 and steerable rear wheels 10 arranged on both left and right sides of the rear lower part of the chair part 2. The electric motor 11 is provided on the inner surface side of the front wheel 9, and the height of the outer peripheral upper edge of the front wheel 9 is set to be roughly the same height as the upper surface of the sitting part 3 of the chair part 2.
