<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion apparatus of a medical instrument for surely performing the work of inserting the medical instrument into body cavities and its method. <P>SOLUTION: An insertion assisting tool 4 to be detachably mounted on a colonoscope 2 provided with a thin and long insertion part 3 to be inserted into a lumen is provided. The insertion assisting tool 4 is provided with a flexible jacket sheath 14 to be deformed so as to be extended in the insertion direction of the insertion part 3 and a hard cover member 29 arranged on the outer side of the jacket sheath 14 and held in the state of covering the jacket sheath 14 in the case that the jacket sheath 14 is contracted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
