DATA REPRODUCING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the reproducing device has to seek the data block by block even when they are recorded in a physically small area adversely affecting the reproducing time when reproducing a medium which has logical address data recorded in a descending order in the reproducing direction like an alternative area of a DVD-RAM. SOLUTION: This device calculates free space in the data storage buffer (2-1), and creates an expectation value for the logical address in the free space (2-2). When the logical address of the inputted data matches the logical address of the above expectation value t (2-4), it continuously reproduces the data without seeking by storing them in the buffer position (2-5).
