PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for recovering a liquid capable of recovering the liquid having high viscosity and high adhesive force and hard to flow such as a quenching oil by a simple structure, and of enabling easy maintenance with less oil-adhered area. SOLUTION: A carrying vehicle 1 comprises a liquid receiver (oil pan) 9 installed under a carrier 8 on which a carried material 20 and a liquid such as an oil to be dripped are placed. A liquid collecting part is formed in a part of the liquid receiver. The carrying vehicle is moved to a liquid recovering position, a distance between a suction port 13a opening from the upper part of the liquid collecting part toward the liquid collecting part and formed at a liquid collecting position and the liquid collecting part is adjusted, and the liquid in the liquid collecting part is sucked and recovered from the suction port.
