PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor not requiring a yoke structure section. SOLUTION: A first unit 1 constituting a stator comprises two permanent magnet rods 11A and 11B. The permanent magnet rod 11A, 11B comprises a permeable shaft 15, and a permanent magnet array 17 arranged with a plurality of permanent magnets 19 while alternating the polarity. Permanent magnet arrays 17 and 17 of the permanent magnet rods 11A and 11B are shifted by 180°electric angle. A second unit 3 constituting a mover comprises unit cores 21 and winding sets arranged alternately in the axial direction of the shaft 15. Two permanent magnet rods 11A and 11B penetrate the unit core 21 loosely. The winding set is constituted of two exciting windings through which the permanent magnet rods penetrate loosely.
