A heat sensitive recording material comprising a support and a heat sensitive recording layer containing a diazonium salt compound disposed on the support, wherein a compound represented by following formula (1) is contained in the heat sensitive recording material, as well as a microcapsule containing a diazonium salt compound and the compound represented by the following formula (1): in which R¹ to R⁵ each independently represent a hydrogen atom, halogen atom or a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, alkenyl group, aryl group, alkoxy group, or aryloxy group; R⁶ to R⁸ each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group or aryl group; and R¹ and R⁷, R¹ to R⁵, and R⁶ and R⁸ may join with each other to form a ring, providing that a ring formed by joining of R¹ and R⁷, or R⁶ and R⁸ does not form an aromatic ring.
