Distributed system for data communication

A distributed system for ensuring that message data is not damaged during send and receive processing of said message includes a memory (2002) for storing an application program (2006), a CPU (2001) for executing it, and a network controller (2003) for sending a message onto a network (2005), send data memory means (2025) for storing send data generated by said application program (2006); send protocol processing means for receiving send data stored in said send data memory means (2025) and executing a predetermined send protocol processing to compose a message be transferred to said network controller (2003), using said send data. The system comprises a first mode (502 - 508) having many processing sequences for enhancing reliability of communication by checking a message-to-be-sent, a second mode (501) having less processing sequences in which a message-to-be-sent is sent as it is, and means for selecting one of the modes.
