PURPOSE: An operating method of a wire bonding apparatus is to alert a replacing time of a spool when a wire is exhausted. CONSTITUTION: A method of operating a wire bonding apparatus comprises steps of: initialling a counter value for counting a rotation of a wire spool; rotating the wire spool up to one rotation if a wire fed from the wire spool is not detected by a spool motor driving sensor; if the wire spool is stopped, determining whether the stop is achieved by the spool motor driving sensor or not; if the wire spool is stopped by the spool motor driving sensor, repeating the above processes, and if the wire spool is stopped regardless of the spool motor driving sensor, increasing the counter value; and, if the increased counter value is correspondent to one rotation of the wire spool, determining that the wire is exhausted. |
