The method involves having a ultiplicity of central control (OS) assigned control terminals (CL) for the controlling of the elements in a multi-user enterprise. An specific element to the controlling of the assigned element is provided and an information window such that data from the element is represented and at the control terminals be opened several times. A window-specific opened window has copies of the data representing the element. A temporary synchronization process (TP) is started when one of the windows is first opened. Registration of each opened window is performed during the synchronization process. Synchronization of the window-specific central control with the element is under the co-operation of the synchronization process. The synchronization process is terminated, if the last one of the opened windows is again closed.
