The invention relates to a back support plate 1 that is, ideally, for use in a chair, the support plate comprising a deformable piece of metal that can be bent or twisted to a desired attitude and remain in that attitude until a further bending force is applied, the plate also having a spine portion 2 and an array of fingers 3 extending from either side of the spine wherein the length of the fingers progressively increases from the base up towards at least halfway to the top of the plate. |
