This invention addresses safety issues arising during the construction of buildings, through providing a portable platform designed to temporarily cover potentially hazardous stairwell openings, and thus prevent accidents during construction work. The platform itself comprises an access hatch that may be readily opened and closed depending on respective access and safety requirements. The present invention aims to overcome problems associated with current stairwell covering techniques, including the considerable inconvenience and costly wastage of materials so conferred. |
