The system has a fuel supplying unit with injectors (11, 12) connected respectively to natural gas and diesel fuel tanks (13, 14), where fuel has octane number lower than that of gas. A selection unit (26) selects the fuel when a temperature of gas in an exhaust line (8) is lower than a threshold value. A control unit (36) controls the injectors to inject the fuel and to stop injection of gas for activating a catalyst (17) of the line.
