The device has a microcontroller (MC) and a heating mode selection unit (10) for permitting to move a pointer (9) between five distinct positions such as stop position (1), non freezing position (2), programming position (3), economic position (4), comfort position (5). The selection unit assures grounding of a conductor (8) connected to a resetting input (7) of the microcontroller, when the pointer is in a stop position.
