摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gel base for external use having high compatibility to human skin, high gel strengths and low skin stimulation independently of the application mode. SOLUTION: The gel base for external use is composed of a gelatinous composition composed of a water-soluble polymer, and having self shape retention, a water content of 30-95 mass% and a compressive deformation ratio of 65-99% defined by the maximum deformation ratio when measured by compressing the gelatinous composition at a prescribed speed with a plunger enabling the pressing at a definite rate to cause a partial destruction of the gel structure, and a polyphenol to be mixed to the gelatinous composition.
