PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leather like sheet-formed material having a high color depth and excellent in fastness, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This leather like sheet-formed material containing very fine short fibers having 0.0001-0.5 decitex single fiber fineness is provided with that the leather like sheet-formed material is constituted by a non-woven fabric and essentially consists of a fibrous raw material, also the leather like sheet-formed material is dyed and the L<SP>*</SP>value of its surface satisfies formula (1): L<SP>*</SP>value≤12.
