PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polycarbonate resin composition having stable quality, suppressed lowering of molecular weight, high stiffness and good hydrolytic resistance. SOLUTION: A method for producing the resin composition comprises melt-kneading an organic layered silicate (component A) in which an organic onium ion is ion-exchanged between layers and an organic compound (component B) having affinity with the aromatic polycarbonate resin (component D) and having a hydrophilic component in (1/99) to (90/10) weight ratio (A/B) of the component A to the component B under conditions in which the resin temperature becomes 280-330°C to prepare a master batch (component C) and compounding 100 pts.wt. of the aromatic polycarbonate (component B) with 0.1-100 pts.wt. of the component C to produce the aromatic polycarbonate resin composition composed of components (D), (A) and (B).
