In the industrial field of the surface treatment of metals, said surface must be prepared, by means of physico-chemical processes, so that it is resistant to the corrosion caused by atmospheric agents or processes activated by electrolytic effects. Furthermore said surface must be prepared so that particular finishes, such as painting, have an excellent anchorage. These processes are particularly oriented towards aluminum end-products. In this field, in fact, the necessity is felt for new treatment systems suitable for simpliying and reducing the costs of the complex processes in use and improving surface protection from corrosion. The invention applies a simple, single electrochemical cell, as a substitution of the current systems, which exploits two effects: the first relates to the generation of a gaseous plasma in a dielectric solvent, said plasma effecting the necessary surface preparation of the metal; the second, in the same cell, relates to the generation of a slight open-pore anodic oxidation suitable for both protection against corrosion and the anchorage of polymeric paints. |
