摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which plays musical interval imparting effect sounds according to the musical progression of BGM, the operation of game characters and the manipulation input of a player or the progression condition of a game and a musical interval imparting effect sound generation program using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU (36) of the game machine (12) causes the BGM to be outputted based on the BGM playing data in the progression of the game. The CPU selects musical interval imparting effect sound generation rule data and playing data when there is a need for reproducing the musical interval imparting effect sounds according to the manipulate signal of a controller (22) by the player S(20). The CPU judges whether rhythm synchronism with the BGM is needed or not in a step S 23 and determines a reference musical interval first in a step 25 as it is in case of the asynchronism trigger in performing the rhythm synchronism according to the synchronous trigger. At this time, the CPU references the chord data and scale data of the BGM under playing. Further, the CPU determines the succeeding musical interval in the step S 25 past a step S 33 from a step S 31.
