PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily manufacturing a solid electrolytic capacitor, having an external layer formed of a densified polymer where the equivalent series resistance (ESR) is low, residual current is low, and which has a proper edge clad. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the electrolytic capacitor comprises at least steps of: (A) introducing a mixture, containing a precursor and an oxidizing agent for manufacturing a conductive polymer, into a porous electrode covered with a dielectric layer to form a solid electrolyte; (B) exposing the porous electrode body, impregnated with the mixture containing the precursor and the oxidizing agent for manufacturing for the conductive polymer, to relative humidity of 70% or higher, and to make the precursor polymerized to form the solid electrolyte; and (C) applying a solution or a dispersing element, containing the conductive polymer or a binder, to a dielectric element, and further applying it to the porous electrode in entirety or partially covered with the solid electrolyte and drying.
