<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an image recording method by which a reduced image suited to simple display can be quickly prepared at the time of recording the RAW data of a photographed image and a reduced image capable of properly expressing a reproducing area of recorded image data can be generated. <P>SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus for performing image pickup of high sensitivity and image pickup of low sensitivity simultaneously or at a short time interval and recording obtained high sensitivity image information and low sensitivity image information as RAW data without processing them, a reduced image is generated only from either one of the high sensitivity image information and the low sensitivity image information and the reduced image is recorded in a recording medium together with the RAW data. When the reduced image is generated from the high sensitivity image information, a contrasty image having a high S/N ratio can be obtained, and when the reduced image is generated from the low sensitivity image information, an image in which the reproducing area of the RAW data can be suitably expressed can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
