<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of shortening the unavailable period even when maintenance by a serviceman is required by judging the state of the image forming apparatus with small scale of hardware. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises an image characteristics detecting section 15 for calculating deviation from the normal state with regard to the state of the image forming apparatus and judging abnormality based on the deviation, a means 17 performing image processing for abnormality when the image characteristics detecting section 15 judged abnormality, and a means 22 outputting a serviceman call signal when the image characteristics detecting section 15 judged abnormality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
