<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming developer and an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The developer is used in an electrophotographic image forming process by a tandem system and the developer comprises a toner and a carrier, wherein the toner has a shape factor SF-1 of 120-160, an average circularity of 0.93-0.98, a weight average particle diameter (D4) of 3.0-8.0 μm and the ratio between the weight average particle diameter (D4) and the number average particle diameter (Dn) of 1.01-1.20; and wherein the carrier is a nearly spherical ferrite having the formula: (MgO)<SB>x</SB>(MnO)<SB>y</SB>(Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>)<SB>z</SB>(where x is 1-5 mol%; y is 5-55 mol%; and z is 45-55 mol%) and having an average particle diameter of 20-45 μm, wherein the ferrite has been surface-coated with an alumina dispersed resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
