<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect from ill-usage of personal information by inhibiting read out of personal information stored in the onboard equipment by detecting the vehicle theft at the time the vehicle is stolen and after that if the vehicle is returned to the correct owner, the read out of the personal information which is inhibited can be made. <P>SOLUTION: When a theft detection part 60 detects the vehicle theft by the signal from a theft detection sensor 200, the personal information stored in an external memory 40 of a navigation device 100 is saved to an excessive memory 42. Thereby, the thief can not access to the personal information. If the theft vehicle is returned to the correct owner, by verifying using the pass ward, the personal information saved in the excessive memory 42 is returned to an original memory 41, thereby, the correct owner can read out the personal information as before the vehicle theft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
