<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase contrast element that can freely vary a phase in a very narrow band width of a desired wavelength, for the purpose of realizing high precision of a liquid crystal display or an organic EL display and miniaturization/low cost of an optical communication device as well as securing their long term reliability, and further to provide a phase contrast film having a high heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: On the surface of a fluorinated polyimide film, a periodic rugged structure is formed having a period of roughly a light wavelength by a transfer forming method or a printing method, and is used as the phase contrast element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
