PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed secondary battery which can be formed easily and is provided with a safety valve having a stable operation pressure. SOLUTION: This is the sealed type storage battery in which an electrode body is housed in a case, the aperture of the case is sealed by an outer package lid 2, and a safety valve 2a having a rubber valve 12 is provided at the outer package lid 2. The outer package lid 2 has a recessed part at the projection part formed integrally and the safety valve 2a is housed in the recessed part and a valve lid 13 for closing the aperture of the recessed part is attached to the outer package lid 2. Thereby, by this attachment of the safety valve 2a structure, the rubber valve 12 is energized and seals the penetrating passage 16, thus sealing of the battery 100 is maintained.
