PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the transmissions between a mobile station and a base station by using aspects of CDMA and OFDM modulation. SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: forming a frame having a plurality of slots therein; using CDMA modulation in a first portion of the plurality of slots; and using OFDM modulation in a second portion of the plurality of slots.
