摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable that facilitates connection with cross wiring cable in a building, by easily making fine diameters for the optical fiber cable when it is teared and, by preventing a coated optical fiber ribbon at a notched part inside the wound state from tearing a softened coating layer to protrude outside the cable, wherein the optical fiber cable is multi-wound, with the coated optical fiber ribbon inside the wound state receiving a large force in the compressing direction and being exposed to so high a temperature as to soften the coating layer. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable is structured such that, in the direction orthogonally crossing the laminating direction of a laminated body 4 in which a plurality of coated optical fiber ribbons 3 are laminated, two tension members 5 are installed in a manner holding the laminated body 4 in-between, that the laminated body 4 of the coated optical fiber ribbon and the tension members 5 are covered with a coating layer 6, and that in the coating layer 6 in the laminating direction of the laminated body 4, a notch 7 for tearing the coating layer 6 is installed each in the symmetrical positions. In this optical fiber cable, the coated optical fiber ribbon 3 is composed of an optical fiber dividing type 4-core coated ribbon which is divisible with a 2-core coated ribbon as a unit.
