PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing float sheet glass, which can not only realize a compact circulatory channel of molten metal but also suppress any heat loss. SOLUTION: Firebrick members 32 are arranged so as to cover an outward pipe 30 although the outward pipe 30 is made of non-magnetic carbon because of attaching of a linear motor 36, and a gap 34 between the firebrick members 32 and the outward pipe 30 is used as a flow passage of a return pipe. Thereby, the circulatory channel of the molten metal, consisting of the outward pipe and the return pipe, becomes a double pipe structure. Accordingly, the circulatory channel is made compact, and further, the heat loss in the circulatory channel is minimized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
