A remote control unit for transmitting a remote control signal to a control target is provided. The remote control unit includes: a key inputting unit having an input key, for inputting a control command; a memory for storing control data for at least one control command for controlling at least one control target; a controlling unit for reading at least one control data for the inputted control command to generate a control signal, and intercepting a control for the control target depending on a usage time of the remote control unit; an outputting circuit for outputting the control signal in an optical signal form; and a power supplying unit for supplying a power source.
