<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is a partial transmission type and for which designing a difference in liquid crystal layer thickness between a transmissive region and a reflective region is not necessary and further a normal display is attained. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with: first and second substrates placed opposite to each other via a liquid crystal; light transmissive pixel electrodes and a light non-transmissive first reference electrode formed on a pixel region of the first substrate; and a light transmissive second reference electrode formed on a pixel region of the second substrate, wherein the second reference electrode is formed so as to be opposite to at least the pixel electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
