PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of a conventional remote control that the consumption of a power supply is accelerated when it is placed on a table or a floor while directing an operation button downward because the operation button is depressed by the self-weight of the remote control to emit a signal from an infrared section provided at the forward end of the remote control and the power of a power supply (generally, a battery) for operating the remote control is wasted. SOLUTION: In the remote control 1 comprising buttons 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d and 2e each operating an operational object, and a switch 3 for changing over a communication channel, an operation mode or the like, the projection height of the switch 3 is made higher than those of the operation buttons 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d and 2e.
