PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which can be surely started up by starting warm-up rotating operation in a state where rotational load is small. SOLUTION: The fixing device 10 is equipped with a rotatable fixing roller 12 having a heater lamp 16, a rotatable pressure roller 14 brought into press-contact with the fixing roller 12, and two thermistors 22 and 24 arranged in the center area and the end area of the fixing roller 12. When the detected temperature of the thermistor 24 arranged in the end area of the fixing roller 12 becomes a prescribed value, the warm-up rotating operation of the respective rollers 12 and 14 is started.
